This pair of abstract, beautifully hand-painted, lifesize sculptures, produced, circa 1970s in Italy, in fiberglass, wood and metal, draws inspiration directly from the Futurist art movement. Despite the overall mechanized appearance of these armless and faceless humanoid figures, in exaggerated contrapposto stance, the artist applies subtle details throughout the composition to establish gender, separating the two as male and female. Both pieces are in very good original condition, consistent with age, with some minor wear to the painted surface of either base.
