The Italian Federation against tuberculosis was born in 1922 to connect 28 provincial societies against tuberculosis, but just from 1931 it began a real and intense campaign to prevent it. It has been sold also a particular stamp, together with some information to prevent this sickness.
The sketch closely represents the style typical of the period, such as Fortunato Depero (1892-1960), painter, sculptor and advertising. Futurism, with the abolition of the barriers between the everyday life and creativity, and also with the conviction of operating in the society “of large numbers”, in which mass communication was necessary, in itself has a real attitude toward advertising. Even Depero, with the manifesto “The Futurism and the art of advertising” (1931), claimed not to see any difference between his work as a painter or as advertiser.
