Nicolay Diulgheroff was a prominent artist who bridged the gap between his Bulgarian heritage and the Italian Futurism art movement. He was born in 1901 in Bulgaria (Kjustendil) and was active in Italy, particularly in the Turin art scene. He is known for painting, design, architecture and is a key figure of Italian futurism in the interwar period (also known as “the second Futurism”). This artistic movement emphasized dynamism, speed, and technology, often reflected through abstract geometric shapes and a sense of movement.
Due to transliteration, his name may appear in various spellings, including Nicolay, Nicola, Nikola and Djulgerov.
Diulgheroff’s artistic expression was multifaceted. He is recognized for his paintings and his contributions to design and architecture.
