Chrome-Plated Illuminated Wall Mirror from Le Mirophar Brot Déposé, France, 1950s

An elegant wall mirror made in the 50s by Le Mirophar Brot, France. This mirror is a magnifying mirror.
The illuminated mirror was designed in 1927 and the Mirophar was born. It found its place in luxury hotels as a shaving and make-up mirror (see Our history at brotmirror.com).
The original plaque has been partially removed, remains are still present. The mirror glass is dated on the back: May 27, 1952. This is not visible when the mirror is in place.

The mirror has a ball joint, can be tilted in any direction and can therefore be adjusted very flexibly.
The mirror’s frame is chrome-plated. The middle, frosted small glass through which the light falls is also in a chrome-plated frame.
The mirror has a bayonet mount.
In contrast to the production from the Art Deco period, the frame in which the mirror sits has rounded edges.
The mirror is manufactured to a high quality.

The back joint shows pressure points. The outer edge has slight pressure marks in an area of ​​approx. 5 cm, the chrome plating is slightly rubbed in places. The mirror has slight missing spots at the top edge and 4 dark spots above the illuminated area. A recess for cable feed has been incorporated into the wall bracket.
