Vintage Design
Charming, small 19th century pillar cabinet or side table from the late so-called “Josephinism” period (1780 – 1800) in Austria. Made around 1800, this eye-catching compact pillar commode impresses with lovely cherrywood veneered surfaces adorned by appeling, typical “josephinism” marquetry works. Micro-inlayed frames made of maple/ nutwood can be found on all sides, as well as on the top of this gorgeous side table/ cabinet. Standing stable on four beautifully handcarved solid cherrywood pointed legs it features a door, which can be opened/ closed by a twist lock and is adorned by an artfully created wreath motive – hiding two compartments inside. An small drawer offers some practical extra space.
