A large 19th century French globular form hand blown green glass Dame Jeanne, or demijohn, bottle encased in two layers of woven wicker and thick braided rope. Layers of different kinds of rope appear to have been added over the years creating an interesting texture. A wonderful sculptural object with beautiful old patina including remnants of the wax that was used to seal the bottle. Please refer to photos for more details. Pictures are part of the description.
