Oak Arts and Crafts High Backed Chair with Tapestry Seat and Inlaid Splat Back. Previewed this at an auction and just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I just had to have it!Turn of the century, the front legs are reminiscent of a Marlborough Leg, being square in section tapering off to a block support. The seat has a studded surround and the fabric is very heraldic in design. Four family crests in each corner with 1570 prominent. And a central coat of arms.Simple arms, widening from back to front with a gentle double curve.Shaped and carved top rail above a studded padded section with the same heraldic fabric. Over 1 stylized and 2 plain splats.Would make a stunning head of table chair or a hall chair. Dimensions: Back measures 118cm high. Weight: 12 kg Condition: Please see photos for condition.
