Marcel Gascoin (1907-1986) is one of these young creators who turned their back on Art Deco decor and campaigned for simple and modular furniture, accessible to as many people as possible. He participated in the architectural movement called the Reconstruction Period (Post Ware), in order to furnish the victims of the Second World War.
In 1948, due to a lack of a publisher, he created ARHEC (Rational Development of Housing and Communities) to be able to produce his own furniture.
